Manufactured in the UK by Aspire, the Catherine Lansfield Natural Cashmere Pocket 1000 mattress is upholstered in a soft to touch stretch knit fabric and benefits from a hand tufted finish. Hand tufting is a traditional method that ensures the deep fillings are held securely in place, by passing tapes through the mattress at regular intervals. The natural cashmere layer naturally acclimatises to the environment too, keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. The mattresss core is made up of pocket springs; a sleep system made up of totally independent springs housed within their own cloth sleeve. Pocket springs contour to the body providing pain easing support to key pressure points for undisturbed sleep. Designed to reduce motion transfer so movement on one side of the mattress shouldnt be felt at the other side. To prevent border breakdown and provide edge to edge support across its width, a thick rod-edge wire is attached to the perimeter rows of springs.
