The Awake x Asics Gel Kayano 21 is a collaboration by Angelo Baque’s popular streetwear brand on the retro-inspired lifestyle sneaker. The Gel Kayano 21 is one of several collaborations between the two brands since Baque re-launched Awake following his departure from Supreme in 2017. The upper features a breathable grey mesh base with suede overlays in grey and cream. The Kayano 21’s signature Asics branding is treated with reflective accenting that shines when exposed to light in the dark. Subtle pops of orange and light blue suede on the back of the shoe break up its neutral appearance. “Gel” and “Asics” branding can be found on the grey synthetic heel counter and on the back of the shoe, respectively. Underfoot, a chunky white foam midsole with yellow inserts gives the shoe a vintage-inspired look. Release date: December 10, 2021
