Sinn watches were the very first pioneers to manufacture proficient divers timepieces that complied with European diving equipment standards and since then have been excelling in their field of expertise. The U212 is limited to 300 pieces and is the largest diving watch from the brand to date. 47mm in diameter, the complete piece is made from black hard coated, high strength, and seawater resistant steel from German submarines. The captive divers bezel makes for a beautiful contrast against the soft ivory tones of the indices, numerals and hands, echoing a truly vintage inspired design. Submarine steel is a special grade of the material which has been developed by ThyssenKrupp to form the outer shells of the most up to date non nuclear submarines , the German navys 212 class. Exceptionally strong and with anti magnetic properties, the case which houses the SW 300 1 movement, offers 1.55 times more strength than that of standard steel and has exceptional seawater resilient qualities. The self winding mechanical timepiece beats at an impressive 28 800 vph and offers a remarkable power reserve, bearing 25 jewels and operating under water depths of 100 meters. The Sinn U212 S E has a screw in crown, a fully screwed in case back, a captive pilots bezel and is protected underneath a scratch resistant and glare proof sapphire crystal glass. The U212 S E is also low pressure resistant and has undergone the Ar dehumidifying technology. This feature is a basic problem solver for preventing the ageing of oil inside the watch which can happen due to air reaching the internal environment. The elements of the Ar Dehumidifying technology ensure that the watch is sealed from external particles, preventing crystal glass fogging and ageing to occur. The black coated stainless steel case has received tegimented technology, the trademark for Sinns stainless steel and titanium surface composition which offers a higher scratch resistant finish. A beautiful all black matte dial showcases angular sculpted luminous hour and minute hands with an eye catching white hued sweeping seconds hand and a date aperture at 3 o clock. The hand applied baton style hour markers have also been coated in a patented luminous paint offering high legibility in low light conditions which also keeps in with the sporty yet minimalistic dial display. The watch is executed on a stunning black silicone strap integrated into the case with a small stainless steel foldable clasp and the iconic Sinn logo enbossed into the side.
