As part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, which makes up the third largest barrier reef in the world, Carysfort Reef has unfortunately become severely degraded over the last 40 to 50 years with coral populations declining by around 98%. Thankfully, the Coral Restoration Foundation has been working to restore Carysfort Reef since 2014 and has already made significant strides towards securing its future. With the help of the Oris Aquis Carysfort Reef Limited Edition watch, they aim to raise more money and awareness for the project. This remarkable Oris Aquis Carysfort Reef Limited Edition is making waves not only for its efforts in coral reef preservation, but its 18 carat yellow gold case is the first of its kind within the iconic Oris Aquis collection. The 43.5mm case is complemented by a solid 18 carat yellow gold bezel, screw in crown and screw down case back. The bezel also features a black and blue ceramic insert laser engraved with a 24 hour scale to help provide three time zones simultaneously. To pair with the breathtaking yellow gold aesthetic, the stunning ocean blue dial is decorated with matching yellow gold Superluminova hour and minute hands and a ‘lollipop’ central seconds hand. Powering each of these functions is the Oris 798 automatic winding movement hidden behind a solid gold case back decorated with a special motif celebrating the Coral Restoration Foundation’s milestone of 30,000 corals planted.
