The 100th anniversary of Fortis will take place in 2012. To mark the occasion, the company has already started launching limited edition timepieces. Fortis B-47 Big Black is inspired by the works of photographer Tomas Monka. It is equipped with Swiss-made 11 1/2 calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour and has 25 bearing jewels. Other movement characteristics include fine timing device and Incabloc shock absorber. Hands are covered with luminous paint for enhanced night time readability. A date display is positioned at the 3 o'clock mark and a day window is available at 9 o'clock. Indications are bilingual, coming in both English and German. Additional useful features include centre stop seconds hand, rotating bezel that measures elapsed time, see-through case back, individual numbering and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating. Solely 250 such watches are available for purchase. Limited to 2012 pieces.
