Half a century ago, USAF Colonel Robert Stephens, also known as Silver Fox, set off into the sky in the experimental YF-12 Supersonic Interceptor and ended up becoming the fastest and highest flying man on earth. Travelling at over 2070 miles per hour and at a breathtaking 80,257 feet high, Robert Stephens broke all aviation and speed records in aerospace history. Ball watches, inspired by this incredible story, has designed this Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Silver Fox Limited Edition watch. The striking 41.5mm stainless steel embraces the automatic calibre BALL RR1102-C movement that is water resistant to 333 metres. Housed beneath the scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass with antireflective treatment is a classic black dial equipped with indexes, hour, minute and seconds hands marked by 16 micro gas tubes that are self powered for up to 25 years and a hundred times more luminous than conventional luminous paint found in other aviation watches. The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Silver Fox limited edition timepiece is completed by a tapered stainless steel bracelet with a patented deployment buckle and extension system. For a unique finish, Ball watches have included the red Blackbird motif at 6 o’clock and a specially engraved case back with Silver Fox himself dressed in his flight suit.
