At first glance, the APC (All Plastic Chair) is reminiscent of the classic wooden chairs that have been prevalent in Europe for many decades. The famous British designer Jasper Morrisson reinterprets this type of chair using a new material to improve its appearance and functionality. The APC chair presents a combination of two types of plastic. While the frame is made from high-strength rigid polypropylene, the seat and back are made from a softer polypropylene, adapting to the contours of the user's body. The flat frame of this chair is moulded in one piece. The thin seat is slightly curved. Very airy, the backrest consists of a thin curved band. The backrest is attached to the frame by means of rubber connectors: in this way, the slightly flexible backrest follows the user’s movements, further improving the chair’s comfort. The combination of two types of plastic also offers a subtle play of colours, featuring two slightly different tones. The frame is slightly darker than the seat and back. This play of colours gives the seat a distinctive character and transposes its classic form into a contemporary context. Using high performance plastics that resist both sun and water, the APC chair is sturdy and durable, suitable for use indoors and out. Compact, comfortable, graceful and strong, it’s ideal for dining rooms as well as cafes, restaurants and other public places.
