Description
Luminous Christmas cards depicting a meditative angel flanked by the words ‘Peace’ and ‘Rest’, a beautiful image and beguiling sentiment for the Christmas season. Reproducing a detail from one of the stainedglass windows at the Church of St Mary, Ealing, created by English glass artist Thomas Boddington in 1870 and manufactured by Heaton, Butler & Bayne. The window was part of a much grander redecoration of the church c.186674 which took on a Byzantineinspired style by noted architect Samuel Sanders Teulon (18121873). Another of Boddington’s windows in the church depicts an angel with the word ‘Joy’.
