Another rare heirloom find a majestic Cake Plate Rural Scenes by Clarice Cliff for Royal Staffordshire Pottery A J Wilkinson of Burslem, England. The Rural Scenes depicts of a picturesque quaint country life scenes. The border is a lovely mix of farming implements including a hoe, rake, shovel & bee skelp with lattice Ivy & berries. A J Wilkinson Ltd Burslem was founded in 1881. in 1916 - at the age of 17 Clarice Cliff (who became the famous Bizarre Ware designer) started working at Wilkinson. Back stamped Rural Scenes Royal Staffordshire Dinnerware by Clarice Cliff. Made in England The dimension is 9 1/2 from ear to ear in excellent vintage condition, apart from a chip under the rim.
