Race-Tuned Altra Ego MidsoleThe Escalante Racer uses responsive and high-performing EVA through the midsole of these shoes, which provides the foot with supreme cushioning and rebound. Using Altra Race-Tuned EGO the shoe's foam midsole has been designed to provide added energy return and a responsive, yet soft, comfortable feel although this is slightly firmer than the standard EGO midsole. The shoes have a Balanced Cushioning platform, to ensure your heel and forefoot are at an equal distance from the ground, encouraging better alignment, and further ensuring you remain comfortable. The feet sit on the midsole on a Balanced Cushioning platform. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your run.
Footpod Technology OutsoleFootpod is an outsole technology that maps the bones and tendons of your foot to help it bend and move naturally. Working alongside Altra's Footpod technology is InnerFlex, which has been designed to provide flexibility and movement also, to do this they have used grid-like grooves so the foot can flex. By using the two technologies together the foot can move naturally for a more comfortable feel but also provide a solid base to run off of.
