Description
Catellani & Smith Table lamp Gold Metal. Dimensions: L 54 cm - Disc: Ø 26 cm. For sculpting shadows and light. Mixing alabaster and golden brass, Alchemie T is a precious sculpture whose enigmatic form does not immediately reveal its function. This unusual lamp explores the relationship between light and shade, Sun and Moon. This lamp makes poetic use of shadow and light, inspired by a lunar eclipse. Alchemie T consists of two discs: the alabaster one is fixed and illuminated from inside by an integrated LED light source. The other golden brass disc is mobile: with a light movement of the hand, it slides on its Medea stone base rail, more or less covering the alabaster disc. So you can modulate the intensity of the light by changing the position of the brass disc, increasing the spectrum of light or shadow to create different effects: exactly like in an eclipse! The more the discs overlap, the more the light is dimmed. The interaction between light and shadow reaches its peak when the two discs overlap, imitating an eclipse. This lamp lets you interact with light and change it. The relationship with the object is a real experience for the user. The Alchemie T lamp dresses the room, questions our gaze and makes the most of this simple everyday act of lighting a space ... Delicate and refined, the Alchemie T lamp is a superb piece of work in the material. When the light is on, the alabaster disc becomes slightly translucent and lights up, highlighting the delicate veins with their amber hues. Alchemie T translates the vibratory richness of alabaster, a stone with multiple light and pattern variations. The alabaster gives off a delicate, vivid light, inviting contemplation.
