The SmartyCam 3 Sport is the latest HD camera from AIM Motorsport. As with previous versions it has been developed for Motorsport use, specifically for Club Racing and Karting and retains all the excellent features such as full HD 1920 x 1080p recording at 30 FPS and real time data overlay using data from AIM data loggers, MyChron kart loggers and GPS modules. This latest version is even more compact making it ideal for even the most cramped cockpit, it is also fully waterproof with a super tough glass lens lens cover making it ideal for open cockpit cars or karts. The SmartyCam 3 Sport can record all of your track action in crystal clear video with no wave or wobble and the video overlay makes it an invaluable tool for improving lap times.Real Time Data Overlay: When connected to an AIM data logger / dash logger or GPS module, SmartyCam 3 Sport automatically overlays on your video all of the data you need: speed, RPM, lap number, gear shifts and much more. Simply choose the data and graphical layout you prefer from the many different overlays available. Data can be read from all the possible sources. From GPS: track map and vehicle position as well as speed, lap and split times. From AIM logger / dash logger connected to your ECU: RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures etc. From additional sensors connected to your AIM logger / dash logger.CMOS Sensor and Lenses Designed For Motorsport: Other generic action cameras are designed to record video in many different situations (skiing, surfing etc), but in Motorsports they tend to record misleading videos making it difficult to tell if a section of track is straight or curved. Being a camera dedicated to Motorsports, the SmartyCam 3 Sport features lenses specifically designed to avoid distortion and eliminate wave effect. The camera is available in two versions: The 67° lens is preferred for closed-roof cars, as it "sees" the track just within the wind-screen pillars, reducing that unpleasant black frame typical of generic camera on-board videos. A 84º lens is available for karts, open-roof and formula cars, where it is possible to have a more ample view of the track and there is no risk of black frames.Built-In data logger: When connected to an AIM data logger / Dash logger or GPS module the SmartyCam records all of the displayed channels data onto a SD card which can then be reviewed later using Race Studio 3 software which is free to download. Recorded channels include RPM, Throttle, Engaged gears, acceleration, temperatures, pressures and date from the cameras internal tri-axis accelerometer.Designed for extreme conditions: An on-board camera designed for Motorsports must continue to work in the most extreme working conditions typical of track racing and against the most adverse weather, such as: strong and prolonged vibrations, continuous rain and extreme high and low temperatures. That is why the SmartyCam 3 Sport has an incredibly tough and durable casing which is sealed to IP65 standards and a sapphire frontal glass which is able to withstand high speed impacts from bugs and small gravel (that usually happen in a race).Automatic start & stop: Imagine the scene... you're on the starting grid, adrenaline pumping. The last thing you need to worry about is switching on the camera. This is why the SmartyCam switches on/off automatically and starts/stops recording in the same way.Automatic track selection: When connected to a separately available GPS module the SmartyCam 3 recognises the track you are at from its database so there is no need to set up points for lap timing.Rear mounted colour TFT display: A 128x128 pixel TFT colour display offers immediate playback and helps with initial setting up.Automatic data and video synchronisation: Videos and important data are stored in the same MP4 file. If MP4 is not enough for your analysis you can simply import video and data from your Aim logger and the software will automatically synchronise them. Track position, video frame and data on the graph with be perfectly correlated.Race Studio 3: Configure your overlays in a virtually infinite variety of ways: add your logo and the track map and choose your graphic objects from a list of pre-determined sets with same layout or even single objects from different sets. Your videos will be truly "yours" in all details, from the data to their graphic layout.Higher Storage Capacity: Using a compression system which has been optimised to provide the perfect balance between video quality and file size. Using an external power source such as the vehicles battery to power the camera eliminates the risk of the cameras own battery running out of power.
