Strikingly similar to Frankincense, Copal extracted from a variety of trees native to Central and South America and was burned by the Mayans and Aztecs in ancient spiritual ceremonies to feed the gods. Since copal resin cannot be used as a perfume ingredient, three different extractions of frankincense are used to conjure it from top to base notes, which perfumer Karl Bradl expertly mingled with aromatic hearts of Cardamom, Patchouli and Myrrh. Rounded off with a lick of almond-scented Tonka Bean smoothed into creamy notes and combined with warming Amber, Copal Azur is a hypnotic and enticing fragrance that leaves a lingering trail of olfactory bliss.
