Description
Gary Aspden’s Adidas SPZL is back with another terrace-inspired sneaker this season. It’s named the Manchester 89 — fitting, given the city’s love of three stripes — and it has that no-frills, casual look we’ve come to expect from the line. The uppers are covered in deep blue suede and nubuck, then accented with hits of bright red at the heels, tongues and three stripes. The sole — which is borrowed from another icon, the Spezial — and a classic T toe cap give a final nod to the shoes so often worn on the terraces during the ’70 and ‘80s.
