Every morning, when a child Chanel would walk across the corridor of polished pebbles that were arranged in geometric patterns with five-pointed stars. These memories were to inspire the theme of her first jewellery collection, Bijoux de Diamants, in Paris in 1932.Many years later this theme was reintroduced into her collections.This Chanel item has been authenticated by Susan Caplan. She was one of the most influential fashion icons of all time. During a very brief career as a cabaret singer, Chanel performed in clubs in Vichy and Moulins where she was nicknamed “Coco.” Chanel jewellery is generally bold in design, gold or silver plated with distinctive colouring.
