Expanding hoses are not suitable for garden taps with low pressure such as kitchen mixer taps, nor can they be connected to water butts. They work well with garden taps as these are normally of a high pressure. As the hose needs to expand, expandable hoses are not suitable to be stored on hose reels. They are also not suitable to be used with pressure washers.
