Woman's shorts in a pure cotton Ikat weave lined in cotton voile. Elastic waistband with a flounce finish and cased drawstring belt to tie at front. 2 side-seam pockets. Ikat is an ancestral artisanal weaving and dying technique: before weaving, skeins of thread are tied and hand-dyed. With the weaving, the differences in the thread colour create characteristic geometric motifs. Given the irregularity of the hand dying and the variation in thread placement, each piece of fabric and so each pair of shorts is unique.
