Woman's sleeveless romper suit in a pure cotton Ikat weave. Round neckline on a front button placket. Drawstring tie at waist. Gathered front and back yokes and shoulder panels. Shorts lined in a matching cotton voile. Ikat is an artisanal dying and weaving technique: before weaving, skeins of threads are tied and dyed by hand. When woven, the colour differences in the threads create characteristic geometric motifs. The irregularity of the manual dying and the thread placement mean each piece of fabric and so each pair of shorts is unique.
