Description

Create a gallery wall of abstract canvas prints with this set of three by artists Karen Hale and Ira Ivanova. These heavyweight framed stretched canvases and ready to wall hang in a room or hallway, there are three different abstract canvas prints, two square and one landscape.

Karen Hale's colour and light-filled canvases transport you into a world of ethereal beauty, encouraging the viewer to search for their own personal meaning and make discoveries along the way. Karen's abstract paintings have been called dynamic, bold, explosive, and exciting. Over the past few years, she has been developing a new line of abstract landscapes that have a more serene and calm sensibility. A full-time working artist for over 46 years, Karen had no formal training, picking up her passion for art from her father, who was a commercial artist.

Karen says: "The motivation to excel results in abstract images that feel free and spontaneous but exude design and beauty. Texture, dimension, colour and good design are the basis for my work. Since I work with many layers of various mediums I like to work in acrylics. Their fast-drying properties lend itself to my technique of adding washes and glazes which reveal the layers below, sometimes altering colours and generating nuances of form and hue. The paintings may include texture medium, chalk pastel, found papers, pen, graphite and or metallic leafing. All of these elements give the piece depth and interest."

Ira Ivanova is an experienced painter and decorator. Her preferred mediums are acrylic and watercolour, and over the years she has developed a unique skill set and style. Ira’s art is marked by her love for nature and the intensity of city life. She uses contrast and bright colours to give strength to her favourite subject: women and their beauty. Her paintings reflect a great joy of life.

Ira says of her art: "My art is defined as a mix between abstract-realism, surrealism and pop art. I like to play with colours, humans figures, abstract shapes and spots. I work periodically in various techniques and like to experiment with different materials and techniques. My goal is to create personal artwork that consists of endless variations. Many of my paintings have layers of texture while some are painted with more transparent colours, with lots of water and spontaneous brush movements. My inspiration comes from all of the beauty around me. I strongly believe that we live in a wonderful world full of joy and positivity. I love the process of painting; it is fun and it brings joy to my life. Through the process of creating I hope to share the positive energy and joy of life with others." Her work is in private and public collections in Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom, Dubai, Denmark, Australia and other countries.
