'Feminine Wave' depicts a towering, curling wave by master Japanese artist Hokusai. This reproduction is printed in the UK on 250gsm matt smooth fine art paper with a solid ash frame, hand-stained in black. It's glazed with a window mount and ready to wall-mount with fittings at the back of the frame. Born in 1760 in Edo (modern day Tokyo) to a family of artisans, Hokusai began painting at the age of six. Despite constant challenges in his career Hokusai endowed the world with some of the most arresting evocative and historically crucial depictions of landscape and nature. Works include his famous woodcuts of Mount Fuji and The Great Wave of Kanagawa.
