Stretch DryVent™ - Waterproof Comfort Constructed from The North Face's Stretch DryVent™ waterproof fabric, the jacket has fully taped seams for guaranteed waterproof performance. DryVent fabric's pores are sized to allow moisture vapour in the form of perspiration to pass through to the outside, while being too small for water molecules to enter from the outside, thus keeping you protected in wet weather and while active. The Fabric's stretch element also ensures that it moves with your active body for maximal freedom. Luxury PrimaLoft® Warmth Body-mapped PrimaLoft® insulation has been optimally placed in the lining of the Chakal's body, where the need to retain core warmth is greatest. But don't worry about a lack of movement; there's lighter weight insulation in the sleeves, where freedom of movement takes a greater priority, and even less in the hood to keep the Ski Jacket's weight down. PrimaLoft®, a luxury synthetic insulation, is designed to mimic goose down's ability to trap warmed air in a myriad of thermal air pockets amongst fine filament fibres. Thus creating a soft and snug filling that's compressible, durable, warm-when-wet, breathable and low bulk for skiing mobility and chairlift comfort. Stave Off Snowstorms Stave off strong winds and snowstorms with the Chakal's feature set; its zip-off Ski Helmet-compatible hood has full adjustability, a peak that causes moisture to run off clear of your face, and lightweight insulation that provides very welcome warmth in challenging weather. It's powder skirt has a grippy seal to keep it in place, hindering powdery snow and cold draft ingress, and it snaps back neatly when not required. Internal stretch cuffs add an extra dose of snug comfort and further snow/draft-proofing. And when the sun makes a more determined appearance, the zipped vents under the arms allow fresh air to permeate your warm inner shell, preventing over-heating. Ski-Specific Pockets It also comes fitted with a useful range of pockets catering for the small essentials needed for a great day on the slopes. The secure wrist zip pocket is designed to hold an electronic lift pass for straight forward access at the lift gates and has a Ski Goggle wipe attached. Two zipped pockets are placed to warm hands, while the distinctive AquaGuard™ zip chest pockets store a piste map, sun cream, or a spare pair of glove liners. Inside, there's a large stretch mesh Ski Goggle pocket and a small secure zipped chest pocket situated for secure phone/electronic gadget stowage.
