Description
A framed print of 'The Line of the Plough', exhibited in 1919, by Sir Arnesby Brown, from the Tate collection. Made in the UK exclusively for John Lewis. The black frame is made of FSC-certified solid ayous wood, sourced from sustainably managed forests. Framed with a card mount and glass front, it arrives ready to hang on your wall. A leading British landscape artist of the twentieth century, Alfred Arnesby Brown (1866-1955) is best known for his pastoral landscapes, which often featured cattle. He studied at the Nottingham School of Art, then at the Bushey School of Art, first exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1890. He became an elected Associate there in 1903 and was knighted in 1938. Sadly, due to blindness, Arnesby Brown did not paint after 1942. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
