Striking necklace of freshwater pearls, jade and amethyst echoing jewellery created at the turn of the century; in 1908 the WomenÂ’s Social & Political Union adopted the colours of purple, green and white representing dignity, hope and purity whilst earlier designs exist reflecting the popularity of the colour combination from the 1890s.
