Sarah Pye is inspired by all aspects of nature, flora and fauna, spending time outside whenever possible and taking a moment to pause and reflect on light and life. She works freely and intuitively, with little or no drawing, applying the paint thickly with a palette knife only, hoping to capture the essence of her subject, not with photographic perfection but with a characterful look and a lively impression.
