Are you going to find out what happens in Sonics story, or in Marios; Competitors looking for a different kind of challenge can try their hand at 14 Plus events, which put a special Mario and Sonic twist on classic disciplines: dive through and ride on waves caused by a Thwomp to set the fastest time in 100m Freestyle Swimming Plus, or use power-ups to reach the finish line even faster in the 100m Plus event. There are two single-player modes to get stuck into: the Rio 2016 Quick Play mode, which lets you play Olympic Games events or Plus events that you choose, and the Road to Rio, a mode that lets you enjoy the story while competing as your Mii.
