Museum Selection Nativity Fresco Cards
Description
Reproducing a tender Nativity scene from a fresco painted c.152025 by Bernardino Luini (Italian, 1485c.1532); once thought to have been part of a series of frescoes decorating the walls of an oratory in the Greco Milanese area of Milan, the fresco is now in the collection of the Louvre. The delicacy of light and expressive intensity of the figures is thought to reflect the influence of Leonardo da VinciÂ’s work upon the artist, with whom Luini worked. Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
