The natural colour tone with attractive designs is produced from un-dyed, dyed and mottled wool. A Fair Trade women's group from northern India produces these carpets in elaborate handicraft from fair-trade, high-quality Himalana wool. The wool comes from the first flocks of sheep from the high valleys of the Indian Himalayas and is certified organic according to the strict criteria of the GOTS. Combining organic certification and fair trade with environmental protection, this excellent rug from the Himalana Project is reminiscent of the traditional way of life.
