With glistening gold foil details to the border and starry sky, the Adoration of the Child and Adoration of the Magi from the St. Thomas Altar by the German Master Francke c.142436. Originally made for St. JohnÂ’s Church, Hamburg only some panels survive in the Hamburger Kunsthalle. The intensity of colour and emotion in the painting bridges medieval and Northern Renaissanceart where greater depth and perspective would develop. Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
