Description
Luminous, bright, and crisp, Laine de Verre is a new daring creation from Serge Lutens. On the skin, its green and metallic facets melt in soft musks, both woollen and chromed, creating an accord never used before. This gives rise to a totally original and ambiguous fragrance. 'It is only after he had been penetrated by the winter that, laying down his arms, the Lord of Glass came to place at the feet of the Lady of Wool flowers and ferns which had frosted on him.' Serge Lutens Our Fragrance Expert says: 'Laine de Verre is French for 'Fibreglass'. That's right, this is a perfume inspired by loft insulation, and why not? If Etat Libred'Orange can have a fragrance that takes inspiration from bodily fluids then Serge Lutens most certainly have one that evokes fibreglass. Importantly, Laine de Verre accurately recreates the texture of fibreglass with aldehydes, mint, musk and cashmeran. The effect is the odd feel of waterlogged cotton - slightly uncomfortable (setting one's teeth slightly on edge) but addictive. Admittedly the lasting power isn't amazing but whilst it does hang around, Laine de Verre is very intriguing indeed.'
