Kin welcomes back textile designer Laura Slater for SS18, combining her modernist prints with oversized yet feminine silhouettes and sportswear influenced shapes for another Limited Edition collection. In a relaxed silhouette, this top is part of our Kin by John Lewis Limited Edition. Featuring a 'minimalist sequences print' designed by textile designer Laura Slater, it offers an eye-catching look and is finished with a drawstring hem for added shape. Following a summer travelling through California, this seasons print story has been inspired by Modernist desert architecture. This concept has been translated through exploring the layering of sequenced graphic shapes, textured linear detail and repeat block printed pattern, in a primary-bright palette. Composition and scale all play an integral role in the final collection of which, much has been developed through working directly with the garment shapes as a canvas for pattern placement. - Laura Slater
