Description
Bracelet inspired by the enamelled and bejewelled eggs created by the Fabergé workshop for the Romanov Tsars and their court as Easter gifts. Alexander III commissioned the company to make an Easter egg as a gift for his wife, the Empress Maria, beginning the tradition and in 1887 the Tsar gave Fabergé complete freedom with regard to egg designs. According to Fabergé Family tradition, not even the Tsar knew what form they would take—the only stipulation was that each one should contain a surprise. Nicholas II, ordered 2 eggs each year, one for his mother and one for his wife, Alexandra. The tradition continued until the October Revolution.
