Our college scarf is a minimalist's delight, a simple rectangular shape with no tassels, yet still manages to look rather dapper and dandyish. The Great and British Knitwear Lambswool Striped College Scarf is impeccably made and hand finished. It's also generously proportioned, at 20cm wide by 240cm long.Although the vertical stripe scarf was a creation borne of necessity in WWII (mixed strips of colour woven material being cheaper than solid knits), it was swiftly adopted by schools and universities, and used as a statement of their calibre by graduates.
