Museum Selection Gold Feather Quill Pen
Description
Sign your letters with a flourish! Inspired by quill pens, used in antiquity and through to the 19th century: a lustrous goldcoloured feather mounted with a decorative filigree accent on a convenient ballpoint pen. Many of the penandink drawings created by Leonardo da Vinci (14521519) are thought to have been made using quill pens and inks made mixing crushed oak gall and gum Arabic. Quill pens, being light, were highly regarded as allowing expressive strokes and marks.
