20th century illustrations which echo the tradition of illumination from the 8th16th century. The foliate borders decorating ‘The Grandes Heures of Anne of Brittany’, created c.150308 by master artist Jean Bourdichon are considered some of the finest in a Book of Hours; the 300 borders include holly, mistletoe and ivy.
