Flying Discovery Activity Day Feel the adrenaline rush as you take the controls of your light aircraft and soar across the sky. You'll receive one-to-one training with a Civil Aviation Authority licensed instructor and will spend approximately 30 minutes in the air. What you learn will depend on your chosen location but all participants receive flying time that counts towards a Private Pilots licence. You will be given headphones so you can hear conversations between your instructor and air traffic control. Min age: 12 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent). Min height: 4ft 10in, Max height: 6ft 4in. Max weight: 12 stone at County Down, 14 to 18 stone at other locations Flying lessons take place all year round and are normally available on any day of the week. Locations include: Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Surrey, Kent, Lancashire, Merseyside, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire. Scotland: Prestwick. Northern Ireland: County Down. Wales: Haverfordwest or Caernafon. After issue of the voucher, the participant will usually have 9 months to book and redeem their voucher directly with the experience supplier (restrictions may apply to certain products).
