Evocative watercolours by contemporary artist Rosanne Sanders c.1994 depicting holly mistletoe ivy and laurel. Evergreens have an ancient association with pagan celebrations marking the Winter solstice but became imbued with Christian symbolism; from the holly"s association with the Crown of Thorns to ivy representing fidelity and laurel which is thought to symbolise eternity and triumph over temptation.4 designs printed "Season"s Greetings".5 ½" square.Produced exclusively for Museum Selection.
