Designed by Mid Century giants Charles & Ray Eames in 1958, this wonderful, elegant, versatile & beautiful chair was made by Eames' European manufacturer ICF, most likely in the 1970s. One of the most well known & iconic chairs of the 20th Century, this EA108 will add class, comfort, colour & bundles of authentic Mid Century cool to any interior. Part of the Eames Aluminium Group of chairs, the EA108 is one of the great furniture designs of the 20th Century & combines wonderful minimalist simplicity with stunning beauty & outstanding comfort. Timelessly gorgeous, versatile & superbly made, these chairs can be found in top boardrooms, offices & homes throughout the world for very good reason. The robust but lightweight chrome-covered aluminium frame is beautifully laid bare with the superior quality, ribbed bold-red leather stretched between the frame to provide all the padding & comfort required for luxurious & extremely comfortable seating. The beautifully ergonomic arms & smooth swivel action complete the EA108, making it the pinnacle & most iconic model of the Eames Aluminium Group. One of five of these super chairs we currently have in stock, these were made by ICF, most likely in the 1970s before they stopped making them in the early 1980s, & are in excellent condition, each with two original ICF labels to the underside of the frame & central base pole. A new chair of the same spec costs almost 3200 per chair, so grab this bargain while you can. CONDITION These are in excellent & almost as-new condition, such is the quality of their build & materials. They have clearly been very well looked after & were built to last; the swivel movement is wonderfully smooth, the chrome is in excellent condition & has been polished, & the stunning vibrant red leather is in superb condition with only the most minor blemishes to show any hint of their 40+ years. Overall, theses are stunning must-have design icons in really excellent vintage condition, & if well looked after they should be just as appealing in many decades to come - please see the photos.
