The beauty of my Hanging Planters are that they hold a proper size plant pot. Many hanging planters have been made too shallow, & the plastic pot shows! Approximate measurements: Width 12.4cm Height 11cm Cord length approx. 40cm. This handmade ceramic hanging planter has been thrown on the potters wheel. This is an off white stoneware clay pot, outside is left unglazed for a textured effect, on the inside it is cobalt blue glazed. Makers mark visible on underside (see close up photo's). The plant is just for decoration & not included in the sale. The Mishima decoration is created using the stamps shows, I make my own stamps using buttons & earings & a cork screw to hold them in place! The stamp is pressed into the clay, which is then filled with coloured slip (watered down clay) & when dry is brushed back to reveal the flower pattern - this is called mishima. Process Handmade pottery can seem expensive, the cost is due mostly to the time it creates to make one individual piece. Ceramic wares are thrown on the potters wheel, trimmed, left to dry then bisque fired, then glazed & glaze fired & finally bottoms are sanded!
