Description
Pride 2022 artworks In celebration of Pride 2022, alongside EAST END PRINTS, John Lewis & Partners have curated a selection of works by LGBTQAI+ artists. Spanning a variety of genres and styles these works express the diversity of the LGBTQAI+ community. This collection is a vibrant, colourful and summery burst of optimism and sunshine. From bold geometric prints to cheeky photography and graphic illustrations, this collection highlights the wealth of creative contributions of LGBTQAI+ artists that we proudly work with. A Miami-inspired poolside print, 'Baby Blue' is by artist Ana Jaks. Ana Jaks is a freelance illustrator currently honing her craft out of a studio in Bristol, a space she shares with many other illustrators and designers. Ana's work is predominantly female-led, although her love for inclusivity means he/she/they often feature throughout. Ana's work heavily leans into all things bright, colourful and fun.Ana's queerness wasn't realised until midway through her twenties, and so Pride for her equates to self-love, self-acceptance and self-expression. Being an illustrator can often feel like an ongoing research project to grow stylistically and professionally, and with that growth came a fondness to work on LGBTQIA+ projects. This fondness eventually became a personal realisation. The colourful, celebratory aspect of Ana's portfolio has seen her work with clients such as Nike, Bombay Sapphire, LUSH, Stylist Magazine, The Washington Post and many more. The giclée art printing process and 210gsm acid-free archival paper create an exhibition-quality art print with long-lasting colours that more closely resemble the artist's materials and tones. A digital form of the original work is stored and then printed using a commercial printer and pigment-based inks. The print is presented with an acrylic glaze that's optically the same as glass yet lighter in weight making it easier and safer to hang. Ready to hang on your wall, it's framed in obeche wood in a choice of finishes. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
