In 1847 Louis Francois Cartier created Cartier the brand, and quickly obtained a glowing reputation and a number of royal customers. In 1904 Cartier patented a wristwatch for a Brazilian aviator who complained about the impracticality of pocket watches whilst flying. This was the first mens wristwatch, and is still produced by Cartier today. Cartier started producing fragrances in 1981, and their fragrance line now includes a whole host of luscious fragrances and toiletries.
