Description
Over half a century ago, the Madrid Birko-Flor Sandals were launched as a 'gymnastics sandal'. With it's simple one-strap design, it's still a solid favourite amongst Birkenstocks lovers and ideal for heading out this summer, exploring to rugged coastlines and rolling countryside. With an original anatomically shaped footbed at the heart of every Birkenstock sandal, comfort is guaranteed. The deep heel cup cradles the heel for natural cushioning while a longitudinal arch support runs along the sides for added stability with each step. In the toe area, the raised toe bar also encourages the natural gripping motion of the feet, making the sandal ideal for prolonged walking. With a Birko-Flor upper, the material is easy to care fore and with a soft fleece lined inner, they are gentle on the skin as you walk, preventing irritation and blisters. An open-pored design also adds breathability, creating a comfortable foot climate, even when undertaking more strenuous activity. Sustainability Birkenstock constantly works to improve production processes, products, packaging and logistics. Thanks to the durability of its products, most are sustainable by nature as a high proportion of the natural materials that they use are from sustainable sources, cork, natural latex, jute, leather, wool felt, copper and brass are among these. All raw materials are also hand-picked and sourced sustainably and - as far as nature allows - are all from in Europe.
