First launched in 1973, the Riviera was designed to embody the refined and elegant lifestyle of the south east French coast of the same name and at the time of its release, it broke the boundaries of traditional watch design characterised by a twelve sided bezel and integrated stainless steel bracelet. This striking silhouette returns in this Baume et Mercier Riviera Baumatic watch home to the brand’s in-house Baumatic calibre with a five-day power reserve, chronometer precision and magnetic protection. Returning to the aesthetics of its 1970’s predecessor, this Baume et Mercier Riviera Mens watch is dressed in classic stainless steel and incorporates the iconic dodecagonal bezel decorated with four screws and an integrated stainless steel three-row link bracelet. It’s 42mm diameter is also home to a unique blue sapphire crystal dial which thanks to its translucency delivers a wonderful view of the automatic winding movement encased within. Around its circumference, the dial exposes the date ring which becomes clearer at its non-smoked aperture at 3 o’clock. The rhodium plated central hands for hours and minutes promise optimal legibility dressed in Superluminova while large applied indexes and Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. The Baume et Mercier Riviera Baumatic watch also promises a 100 metre water resistance and comes with an exhibition case back and a classic folding buckle with security push pieces on the bracelet.
