The fabric is softer and more flexible too, allowing the natural 'C curve' in their back. Babybjorn have also made the head support higher - this allows a newborns head to be more supported and if your baby has fallen asleep when they are older, it can support them too! The new design allows you and baby to be even closer in a big hug.Equipped with a sturdy waist belt and padded, form-fitting shoulder straps you can distribute the weight on your hips to avoid back and shoulder discomfort.Developed in conjunction with paediatricians, and tested by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, the One Air has been declared a "hip-healthy" carrier, which means that newborns get the correct support they need and are held in an optimal position with the legs angled outwards.Complete with an inbuilt infant insert, you have different carry options that allow you to adapt to the needs of your child as they grow. It's recommended for use with your baby facing you for the first five months until your baby's neck, back and hips are strong enough to support themselves unaided and to only use the carrier on your back once they reach 12 months old.The One can be rolled up compactly and placed in your changing bag or in your pushchair basket when not in use. All fabrics used are safe and tested to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class I to ensure they're free of hazardous chemicals, as well as being part of the Airology range designed with a uniquely soft 3D mesh to keep you and your baby comfortable. The 3D mesh is made from 3 layers; a soft mesh next to baby's skin, a durable mesh on the outside and a fine, single-fibre layer in between to give the stability of padding with the benefit of great air-flow. The material can be machine-washed at 40°c and dries quickly, and the material composition is as follows: Main fabric and waist belt lining 100% polyester, leg position zip guard: 100% cotton.The carrier can be used from newborn (minimum 3.5kg/53cm) up to 15kg/100cm (approximately 3 years). You can carry your child safely facing outwards from 5 months up to 12kg.
