Cleaning and Maintenance Switch the steam iron off (put control-position to minimum temperature; see mark on water tank) and unplug. Place the steam iron in an upright position and let it completely cool down, then empty the water tank. Remove residues from steam sole with a vinegar-water solution. Rub the cabinet with a damp cloth and finally rub it dry. Automatic electricity interruption for security In case the installed thermostat malfunctions the power supply will stop automatically to avoid the steam iron overheating. In this case the steam iron has to be repaired by a service representative. Self clean The self clean function cleans the sole plate when you use the iron over a period of about 6 months. To activate this self clean feature: 1. Fill the iron and plug in 2. When the temperature reaches 'MAX' press the self clean button for about 1 minute 3. Only conduct self cleaning with a bowl to collect all water. Otherwise hot water may be spilled. Anti-calc system A special resin filter inside the water reservoir softens the water and prevents scale build-up in the plate. The resin filter is permanent and does not need replacing. Please note: Use tap water only. Distilled and demineralised water makes the 'Zero-Calc' anti-calc system ineffective by altering its physiochemical characteristics. Do not use chemical additives, scented substances or decalcifies. Failure to comply with the above regulations will lead to the loss of your guarantee. Anti-drip system With the anti-drip system, you can perfectly iron even the most delicate fabrics. Always iron these fabrics at low temperatures. The plate may cool down to the point where no more steam comes out, but prevents drops of boiling water that can leave marks or stains.
