Description
National Railway Museum Be transported to the golden age of steam with evocative soundcards, accompanying images of the Flying Scotsman and Mallard. Two of BritainÂ’s bestloved, iconic locomotives; both part of the National Railway MuseumÂ’s collection. Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley, the A3 class Flying Scotsman was built in 1923 and was the first steam locomotive to reach 100mph in 1934; the A4 class Mallard was built in 1938 and set a new world speed record, travelling at 126mph in July 1938. Hear the engine chuff and the whistle hoot as locos of the same class gather speed.
