Description
The British Museum Reproducing watercolours on vellum originally created by English merchant, respected entomologist and botanical artist Alexander Marshal c.16391682; now in the collection of the British Museum. Thought to be from a series of plates for one of his earlier florilegia; combining keen botanical observation with decorative flourishes. The tulips are depicted in floral posies with larkspur, narcissus, convolvulus and gladiolus.
