Museum Selection 10 Mackintosh Botanicals Cards
Description
Set of cards reproducing ‘Anemone and Pasque’ from the collection of the British Museum and a study of a flowering cactus, 1915. Credited to C.R. Mackintosh, the images also bear the initials of his wife Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (MMM) who, it is thought, possibly added the watercolour. While it is not known precisely how the couple collaborated on the flower studies a large series of botanical studies were created during the couple"s stays at the popular Summer retreat of Walberswick, Suffolk in 191415.
